I have a fairly new GO453PX. I'm using this for all my rough sawn lumber for or huge kitchen project. I really like this machine. The head always moved freely on this machine but now if I put the hand wheel with the hand bar in a horizontal position gravity will bring it to the bottom. Guess I could use the locks but I'm only used to using the locks for a final cut (on my old machine) not when I'm bringing stock down to size. Is this normal? Is there an adjustment to tighten this up a bit?
Thanks,
Mike

The problem is dull knives. Get them sharpened and the problems will go away.

I should have said the hand wheel moves on it's own before (without) feeding the stock.

Mike,
Have you checked the tension on the Table Height Chain mechanism? Could the idler sprocket have loosened?

The handwheel on my G0453Z wants to move on me when it is at the top. I lock the tables and I don't have any problems.

+1 on Marks response but make sure the chain does not come off the sprockets if you adjust.
