Australian bottle tree

Does anyone have any experience the Australian Bottle Tree? There is no bark to speak of, it's just a green covering similar to a Palo Verde. My neighbor is cutting his down and I was thinking of taking a few pieces to make a bowl or two if it's worthwhile.

I've turned a few pens from Australian bottle brush, but the wood came from Australia... I thought it made beautiful pens. I've never seen a big chunk of it, but I'd sure give it a spin. I hope you'll post some photos either way!
