I checked out the myrtle yesterday. A friend and I went and his vehicle broke down on the interstate. An hour sitting 3 feet from a road with tandem trucks passing at 70 miles and hour, it is quite frightening after seeing all of the videos of highway patrolmen and cars being struck. Funny thing is after about 15 minutes it doesn't bother you any more.
Upon looking at the wood it was not logs at all but largish fitches. Ended up buying five fitches for $120. The large one in the photo is the nicest one. The wife tells me she wants a table out of one of them. I haven't done any flat work in years, so it is going to be a pretty rough table.
