I have an older Craftsman 10" power miter saw. Last time I used it for a project it worked as it should without problems. Last night I got it out to use and it blew the breaker in the box. It pops right away as soon as I pull the trigger. The blade does spin so nothing hanging up. Got the same result 3 times. The outlet is not over loaded. Only this saw on the line at the time. I also hooked up another saw to the outlet and it runs without problem.

Where should I start looking for my problem?

The name plate?........

Sorry - - couldn't resist.
My Craftsman CMS was a major disappointment & waste of money. At least you got a decent amount of use out of yours. Mine only lasted a week.

Sounds like you have a short in yours somewhere. You should be able to OHM it out w/a multimeter starting around the switch.

Yes, The Craftsman saw was not the best. Fence was anything but square. I fixed that with Hardwood and the jointer. Other than that it did the job well. This model is 20+ years old. At the time a popular model saw.

Would the motor brush be the problem. They are original to the saw.
