Would cast or extruded Acrylic be best to use for the doors to an old popcorn popper ?

There are holes in the soors for hinges and a handle. The plan is to laser it out of 1/4 " with some lettering on it.

Thanks in advance

Extruded cuts better, cast engraves better. I would use cast for the better engraving capabilities.

You've peaked my curiosity - what are you planning to put on the door; if you don't mind sharing that is.

Use cast , extruded is way more stressed when exposed to heat and lasering and runs the risk of stress cracking at points like the hinges etc.

This is what the old ones look like. I have some IPI yellow engraves black for the warning labels, was thinking of recessing them into the clear.

I would say you should make them very easy to replace because you'll be replacing them often if you use acrylic. Why not use glass?

David, my cast acrylic has been fine for a long time - plus the personalizing of the doors to match the machine go a long way to making it unique for the consumer. FWIW
