First first - Bowtie from Woodcraft - My DIL's family sold a farm that was in the family for over 150 years - this wood is siding from that barn - reportedly original siding. Pen was made as a gift to her mother. 12 coats of CA, MM to 12000 and ren wax
Second First - New Series from Arizona Sillouette - White Tail Antler - fun to turn but has a little odor! 14 coats of CA, MM to 12000 and ren wax.
(photo tent arrived yesterday but haven't had a chance to set it up yet- please pardon photography!)
Comments and criticisms welcome!

That barn wood is awesome! Its (almost) always good to see whats hiding in 150 yr old wood .... Antler does have a little smell do it! I did my first a few weeks ago, all I did was MM it and thats it. It polished itself just fine without CA.

Nice work Keith!! I won't do antler anymore...makes me sick to my stomach! Barn wood is really cool!

Keith those are some great looking pens. The Barn-wood would be my favored. Just a thought on the antler pen, some of us favor drilling the antler so that a little of the outside surface is captured within the final diameter of the pen. Gives the pen a more natural-antler look. However, as is it still looks great, more like ivory then antler.

Thanks for the comments and advice! I actually tried to drill close enough to the edge to get some natural look but i wasn't close enough and it disappeared on me! Will try again - I found out that turning a fan on behind me helps with the odor!

Really nice pens. I do like that barn wood. Always cool to see what appears while turning.
