This is a maple hollow form turned from maple. It measures approximately 6 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide. I finished with aniline dyes and wipe-on poly. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am glad cooler weather is finally here! I have been wanting to try out my new Glaser Hitec bowl gouge for awhile and finally got the chance. Man is this thing an engineering marvel. I don't quite know how to explain it other than you have to get one and try it for yourselves. Anyway, all comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Very nice piece! The dye really accentuates the figure.

Joe, I've got to say this is my favorite shape and you nailed it. The form and color all work together!!!! I've also just received a new Glaser 1/2" 10V. Only had the gouge for a couple of weeks but like you say what a piece of engineering!!!!

Gorgeous piece Joe. The dye in combo with that shine really takes it over the top! Your skills are such that you could probably have turned this with a beat up sears bench chisel though! I've been eyeing one of those Glasers too. Maybe Santa still brings stuff to old people!?

Thanks for all the kind remarks.

All you have to do is believe in Santa. It wouldn't hurt sending him a letter telling him that you've been a good boy this year. You may want to butter him up by saying you could be his "little helper" by making other boys and girls toys with your new Glaser Hitec tools.
