I was killing some time on Monday and decided to do some searches on CL. To my surprise there was an ad for some cherry, 4/4 $1.50bf and 8/4 $3.00bf. The location was just over 100 miles away
It was one of those deals where you had to take from the top of the pile. out of 300bf I ended up with some nice pisces. most were 5 1/2" to 7" wide and most were all heartwood. I also ended up with about 40bf being between 4 1/2" and 5 1/2". This also included some live edged boards that were still usable widths. I also got 30bf of 8/4 that were all heartwood :). All of the dealers with in a 2hr drive seem to think that cherry is valued like gold and charge $7.10bf for 4/4 and $8.30bf for 8/4 and most of the time its hard to find any nice boards, always lots of sapwood. also this picture does not show all of the wood. I know its poorly stacked, I was rushed due to it was starting to rain when I was sorting it in the driveway. I did get it all indoors before the rain started.
