At least that is the case with our chickens. Some are smaller breeds than others, but we do not have any of the breeds that normally lay eggs this big.

We used to refer to those as "double yoke eggs". Check and see if it's a double yoke or a single yoke.
I suppose it's like twins in mammals.

I'd reward the hen with a little more feed than normal.

You sure a duck didn't sneak into the chicken yard?

Back when I had a farm, My 8 year old daughter went out to the barn to get an egg for breakfast. I was out there doing chores so I helped her get one. She reached under a nesting hen and pulled out the biggest egg I've ever seen. When I came out of the barn there was a van from the local TV station in the drive. I go into the house to see what's happening and they're interveiwing my daughter. It seems that the monster egg had 4 yolks! She made the news that night. I found out later that the record was 7 yolks.

The egg was cracked and fried this morning.

nice eggs but on the small size, I prefer a egg big enough to require the use of both of my hands

the word "geese is plural and include both male and female , No pun intended--I wish that I could buy duck or goose eggs as easy as chicken eggs
