I signed up for a turning class with Bonnie Klein at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking in a few weeks. It is a basic class that I am looking forward to. A few weeks ago I attended a hand tool class with Christopher Schwarz that was just excellent. PTSWW is located at Fort Worden on Puget Sound....if you are unfamiliar with the school here is a video that Christopher Schwarz took during the week he was there:

Just got back from my first day of wood turning....had a blast! Made a pen and a spinning pumpkin! My wife loved the pen! hahaha...so now she wants me to make some for Christmas gifts! Uh oh...what did I get myself into. We used Jet mini-lathes in the class. A few tools, gouge, parting tool and a little bit with a skew...more to learn with the skew in tomorrows class...
