Hello All,

I read the thread of 2008 about the cleaning of a jet AFS1000 inner filter, but reading it stirred a question.

One of the reasons it's such a pain to clean by turning inside out is the fact that it is pleated. Has anyone tried to tear the pleats so you have only 3 inner pockets to turn out? it would seem easy (on paper that is...) to tear the pleats, turn out the three pockets and blow it outside with compressed air. If this has not been tried, then I will try it and let everybody know!

If you get them in the right place they're only 12 bucks. http://www.filters-now.com/products/ir5.html#products Is it really worth messing aroung ripping holes in it trying to get it clean for that? I replace mine (JDS unit) twice a year and I would never consider cleaning it.

No, it is not worth it...
What a great website, thanks John. I never imagined you could find them for so little...
