I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you did something to the saw OR mounted the blade on the upper wheel OR tensioned the blade a certain way, you wouldn't have to worry about setting a band saw fence to an angle to compensate for drift.
What was the advice? Does it work???

On smaller band saws, up to 14/ 16", the wheels are crowned. Your blade should be centered on the tire to reduce drift.

Larger band saws have flat wheels and you run the blade with the teeth off the front of the wheel. The flat wheels allow you to do this and still keep the blade tension high for better tracking.
