These pics are from a trio of auctions in the Midwest sometime in the next couple months.

(I don't remember all the details. If anybody is interested PM me and I'll find the link. The auctions are in Onawa, Iowa, which is about an hour north of Omaha.)

Anyhow, the point is that I had no idea there could possibly be so many old planes in one place at one time. No idea whatsoever. I was so bind-moggled that I downloaded all the pics of planes, shrank them, and uploaded them to my personal webspace so I could share them with you.

Note: These are just the planes at these two auctions. There are more than 15,000 tools to be auctioned in all.

Here are the planes.

(url deleted I suck at the internet)the website irrc

The list of the items to be auctioned is 54 pages long and they have a record from last year with how much averything went for. The PDF's are big for those lists.

I think I know what I will be doing at the end of April

The website is http://mccallauctions.com/auctions.htm WITHOUT the the www.

It is a ton of tools. You can bid absentee if you like. see the website. They also have a lot by lot description of each of the tools, see the catalog.

I just spent a half hour going through the stuff that will be auctioned over the three days of this auction and I don't even think I saw 1/8th of what's there. My mind is boggeled. Even after seeing some of the pictures and a few pages of the lot lists, I just still can not comprehend.

I do believe someone should keep an eye on for Tom for a few days before this auction. Perhaps we could have Tampa closed down? If he were to get loose and get up there, that's enough iron to sink Florida. :)

Lets see, airefare - Newark to Sioux City - $450, car rental, say five days - $250, hotel, $400, meals & misc say $200, overweight baggage charge for return trip - priceless.

Dear Tom,
I am extremely dissapointed in you! http://sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/eek.gif Why didn't you post a very very large health warning at the beginning of this post! http://sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/smile.gif These pictures induced an, as yet undiagnosed, neurological condition in me. The clinical manifestation of which included a loss of neurological control of the muscles that keep my mouth shut, excess salivation, drooling and halicinations dealing with plane trips over the pond ,feelings of euphoria/longing. Please don't post something like this again without plastering it with warnings as to what is coming up - my system can't take the shock. http://sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/smile.gif Now come clean and tell us what you have got /will go for from this lot. P.S. IMHO this is what I would refer to as woodworking porno and I thought we were not allowed to post that.http://sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/wink.gifhttp://sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/smile.gif

Shhh!

It is my auction. I've been quietly swapping a few of my chisels for other things when Louis wasnt' looking. ;)
