Dubby! Easy to get accurate cuts and angles.

I use both the Dubby -- really like the simplicity of it -- and the Incra 1000 miter gauge -- also very simple and easy to use. Sometimes one is more appropriate than the other. I do choose the sled when I have a choice because I think I have more control over the cut and there is less chance of "slippage". I also feel safer with a sled because my hands are not anywhere near the blade.

Dick -

A home made sled for 90º cuts. Osborne for angles other than 90º.

Cut off sled is cheap and easy to make. Dead on accurate. Adjustable stop for repeatable cuts. Osborne gauge is easy to set for other angles. Nice long fence for good material support. Also has stop for repeatability.

Jointech SmartMiter for most things, Incra 1000 when I have the dado blade in. Both recommended. Homemade wide panel sled for cuts wider than 12".

The angles of just about any of them are dead on. The SmartMiter has built in repeatability. It's easy to get the same setup you had last time if you mess up a part or for some reason have to break it down and set back up for more parts at the same setup. It also has a pretty slick rotation mechanism that keeps the stop accurate with angles.

I use homemade sleds for miters and cross cuts. I have specialty sleds for different job. I have had them for many years.... :)

MiniMax sliding table is my crosscut sled. It's currently accurate to .004" in 8'

I recently bought the Incra 2000 mitre gage and I love it. Very accurate and repeatable. Great improvement over the stock mitre that came with my Ridgid 3650. Based on what I've read here, a cross cut sled is in the near future for cutting large panels.

I use the Jointech SmartMiter and love it for all angle cuts. I use a home built sled for most 90 degree cuts and a home built panel sled. The Smart Miter is always dead on and repeatable.

Fastrack miter gauge

My own basic sled.

I cut most smaller miters on the CMS and rip muters on the tablesaw, either using the fence or the miter gauge.

Another vote for the JointTech Smart Miter. I have one and love it. I use it a lot to make multi-sided mirror frames and it is dead on. It is probably one of my favorite tools.

I use a shop-made sled for 90 degree cutrs and another shop-made sled for 45 degree miters. I've been toying around with an idea for a sled with an adjustable attachment to cut miters between 0 and 90 degrees.

Osborne miter gauge here. I LOVE it. I and thinking of getting a smaller one I can put sac fences on for "odd" cuts.

Great thread! I have been thinking along the same lines. I believe I am going to pull the trigger on the Dubby. I am thinking the Dubby will be an excellent safety investment as well as work reducer and accuracy enhancer.

Shop cross cut sled and mitre gauge with shop built extension. Need to build another cross cut sled for dado's and angle cuts.
