I'm planing to build a pair of these wonderful chairs but have a few questions for the old timers who've done it

1. Wood selection - I'd like to match my recently coffee table by using cherry. Most A & C stuffs are built using QSWO. Anyone has built one with cherry? How do like the look?

2. Upholstery - what are the options and the reason for choosing what you picked for your chairs?

I built a pair a few years back. The wife was with me when I was selecting lumber and she chose honduran mahagony for the arms. I ended up with the mix and she loves them. I also went for leather for the upholstery based on tyhe wife's taste. That's the nice thing about making it yourself, you get exactly what you want and not what somebody thnks you should have. If you like cherry, gopherit.
