Anyone know where I can purchase a cool block guide system for my Grizzly G0555? I cant seem to find any info through google.

I'm not sure where to purchase the other guide system, but I was wondering what makes you want to lose the bearings for the cool blocks? I was under the impression that the bearings were the better system?

I have had my G0555 since 2003 and since 2003 it has been a pain in the arsh. I have replaced more bearings than I can count. I now want to try cool block system as I have heard good things about them and I do not go over 1/4" on my blade size. Trying to make minute adjustments to the current bearing system I have on the BS is impossible. If I use only a 1/2" blade then I would only use bearing/euro guides.

I switched to cool blocks to use a 1/4 blade as well. I got the parts I needed from Grizzly. I had to contact them directly as the parts weren't available through the website.

At first I too was confused but, I would prefer cool blocks for 1/4" and under as well. Sounds like Brett has the info you need ;-)

Great, I will give Grizzly a call tomorrow and see what I can get. Thanks.

I've used them all, and I prefer the ceramic blocks. For me, they offer the best support, with the least messing around. YMMV.

I use Cool Blocks on my l'il old Magna (precurser of the Shopsmith brand) in addition to a bearing upgrade. Love 'em.

On the blocks vs. bearings question. I swapped my block guides for an Accura aftermarket bearing guide set on my HF bandsaw at first. I was never happy with the lateral control I had over the blade, the eccentric screw that brought the guides in / out never got things lined up quite right, and caused trouble with the blade. I have since swapped my original block guide holders with Cool Blocks in, and couldn't be happier... I have used a G0555X that a friend has, when helping him on some rush projects for his church. (They were making a series of band saw boxes as fund raisers). The roller guides on that seemed to me to be identical to the Accura models I had. (Still have in a box in my shop). I just don't care for them. Others love them though... I guess it's the blue car versus green car or whatever thing. Whatever you like and works well for you, go that way...

Called up Grizzly today and ordered the cool block supports, cool blocks and thumb screws. Cost with shipping came to $45. I might order a set of ceramic blocks next. Also want to get the Carter stabilizer for scrolling.

If you are looking to put the cool blocks onto the 513X2, you can either buy parts 132, 145, 147 (x4) & 150. Or you can purchase a complete assembly t21972

If you get the complete assembly, then you are paying for the euroguide blocks and holders (about $30) so I figured getting the 7 parts above was quite a bit cheaper.

I have to admit that I have often wondered what other woodworkers saw in the bearings. I hate mine. But I do not have a set of carter bearings either. But there is a guy on ebay selling some blocks that I might try. He sells the heck out of them and no negative feedback. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graphite-band-saw-blade-guides-Delta-Jet-Grizzly-Sears-/190359388147?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c524dbff3 I have no affiliation with this auction.

Now another setup that has me wondering to is this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-band-saw-guide-bearings-set-10-/310345476767?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4842082a9f I think the double bearings like that would help, any input welcome by all means....

I did it, on my G0555X, using the Grizzly parts. Somewhere, on SMC, I posted part #'s and prices ... I think.

Very happy with the change. Very simple, and excellent results. Re-sawing became pretty much a no-brainer.
