Yew 122 X 58 mm
Some times ago, I've tried a little tripod.
the bottom seemed a little "flat"
there is another with the bottom in the general line
Comments welcome

Very Nice piece. One question, do you rough out the legs so that you can see the line from the bottom to the top? Can you explain the order of work? I have a bit of trouble figuring how I would attack that.

Hello Thom,
In order to match the shape behind the feet with the general shape, I've carved a gap, and after hollowing the bowl, I carve the three feet

Thanks Lionel, great piece and I understand what you did. The gap must give just enough vision to shape the bottom without making the feet unstable. Great piece and thanks for showing, your pieces are always an inspiration.

very nice, love that yew
with the tight grain of yew, it seems to carve for you very easily, any problem with carving it?
