Finial Materials Gloat

The other day I posted my donation to Robin Costelle's auction and like a lot of my hollow forms, the piece had an acrylic finial. Bill Wyco mentioned that he had a bunch of scrap plexiglass and if I was interested - to let him know.

Today I received an exceptionally heavy box in the mail and it contained actually slabs of plexiglass!!! Don't know about everyone else but thick plexi is not something we can easily get up here!

I figure there is enough material there for at least 5 or even 6 finials!!! For size reference, the top three slabs are 1” thick and the bottom one is ¾”!!

Steve, I take it the plexiglass is clear, but covered with a protective film? Looks to be tinted! Congrats! I see a lot of "really different" finials in your future!:D
