Family Gloat

Family gloat for our Minnesota State Fair results. My son, Jon took top honors in woodturning for the 7th grade category and top honors for 7th grade overall. He watched me make many travel mugs and wanted to try one. He selected some very nice wood, cherry walnut and purple heart. I was lucky to come in third in the solid woodturning category (there is one for segmented too). I also submitted a birdhouse that I had turned into the birdhouse category and took 1st place there. It was an exciting day when we learned the results. Jon and I are already thinking about 2012.

Way to go, Greg! I did see the birdhouse and bowl at the Fair. I thought they might be yours but wasn't sure. You are both deserving of the awards!:D

I may have to enter some thing next year so you might have some more competition! Heck, my kids may want to enter something after seeing this post....:):)
