I have a X-5 Unisaw that is only a few years old. Has had modest, hobbiest use.
Worked fine until it didn't start.:(
Power is on at the outlet. I don't have an owner's manual.
When I had a similar problem with my dust collector, it turned out to be a capacitor.
Any suggestions or solutions would be much appreciated.

1) Is there power at the plug?
2) Is there power at the switch?
3) Is there power at the motor?

That will get you a long ways. I have had a screw come loose in my 6-20P plug before.

do your saw have a reset button ?

I have the same saw and once in a while some dust gets into the magnet switch box and it won't stay running. Maybe your has lots of dust and not making contact. Try disconnecting the power and blowing some compressed air over into the magnet switch box. this is after trying the stuff Cary suggests of course.

Power to the plug.
Power to the switch.
NO power to the motor.

Inside the switch box -
The small black mechanism with two red wires, one on top and one on the bottom, that is pushed by the external "on" button to turn on the saw doesn't do anything when I pushed it in.
However, when I push the maroon-colored plastic part to the left of the "on" switch the saw turns on. :D
Clearly, something is wrong with the internal "on" button.
Thanks for all the suggestions. They helped me to find my way and identify the problem.
