Well I won a used Jet 1236 in a raffle at the Willamette Valley Woodturners Club (in Salem Oregon) last Thursday. Betty and I both have our Jet minis, and I have had a Harbor Frieght knock off of the Jet 1236. Betty says that she wants the harbor frieght lathe, so we are now a four lathe family, lol. Just keep telling your selves that "I only need one lathe, I only need one lathe". It might work, but I doubt it :)

It never worked for me. I have three. Congrats on winning the 1236.

I also have 4 lathes. My Nova DVR XP, Lauren's Delta 46-460, a Jet 1014vsi, and a MicroMark 7x14 metal lathe.

I'm trying to breed them. So far they have not produced any new recognizable lathes, but I have noticed additional routers showing up in the shop.

Aren't lathes like clamps? You can never have too many! :D My son won a lathe at the AAW Symposium in June and we now have 2. Congrats on the addition.

I kept my Jet mini when I got the Powermatic. The Jet is easy to take to craft shows for turning demos during the day. Congrats on winning another lathe.

I said the same thing but ended up with a Nova, Jet and precision jewelers lathe.

Congrats on the addition to the family. I think it's great that you and the better half both enjoy turning. Not as many arguments when you want to buy a new ______________ ........ :)

Thanks everyone.

Rich, you are right, when your spouse turns, it is much easier to aquire new toys and accessories because they will be using them too ;)

Your post brought a smile to my face. Sure is easier to handle the"addiction" when the family shares that addiction. Here's hoping no one gets cured.
