Does anyone have opinions about the woodtek shapers (2 and 3 HP) compared to the Jet? Is Woodtek generally a reasonable brand?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Woodtek is the "house brand" of Woodworker's Supply and I believe those shapers are likely made in the same Gee-tec factory as the Jet shapers. There may be some engineering differences, however...not to mention the paint! ;)

I think I've decided to go for the 3HP Jet as I know exactly what I'm getting... Thanks for the help :)

We have a Woodtec 3 station shaper at my work place. It was there before I started working there something over 7 years ago. The only complaint the guys have is the fences are a little finicky to setup and you have to keep a eye on them because they can easily become out of adjustment.

I own a Woodtek 3hp Shaper late 80s vintage. It is a fine shaper and runs smooth as silk. Very well balanced! It runs more smoothly than my Powermatic 26, I think. And (Gloat) it was quite a bargain in the Kansas City want ads at only $400!!
