Lee Valley Ltd Rocks

I purchased a right hand skew rabbit plan a few weeks ago. I opened my mail box yesterday and found a letter from Lee Valley with a check for $10. Lee Valley has reduced the price of the skew rabbit plan in their new catalog and reimbursed the difference to me. Thanks Rob, your tools and customer service are fabulous.

Yep they rock! As does that plane - very useful. Has a bit of a learning curve, but does what it does oh so well. BTW, keep that thing waxed, the fence, the sole, and the depth stop. It's much easier to control your cut when you aren't contending with friction and can use a light touch.

yup the time I got a check in the mail from LV I called customer service and asked to make sure it was not some form of scam and the check was indeed from them... there are none better in my book.

Paste wax or paraffin?

I just use a block of canning wax from the grocery store. I've used candles with success too. I think those are both paraffin. I believe I've heard that folks use paste wax with success as well, but I haven't personally used it on plane surfaces.

I use the canning wax on my saws. It is paraffin. I also use Johnson's wax on a lot of things.
