Here's a little piece of maple I found when cleaning up around the shop. I've been on a kick to learn how to do hollow forms freehand, instead of using my Jamieson rig. This is the first one that survived. The straight sides right by the foot is an optical illusion. Comments and critiques welcome.

207001

Wood: Maple
Size: 2-1/2" x 2"
Finish: Shellac + Waterlox + buffing

Thanks for looking.

Small forms are great practice and really become too difficult for me to do with my Jamieson rig. I like it when they are small enough you can do a pinch test with fingers to gage the thickness.
Nice little form...another nice little form to play with hollowing freehand are ornaments.
