When I turned the saw off, I would hear a light clicking as the RPM's slowed to a stop.
It became more noticeable after a few projects.
I assumed it was it the beginning of the end for the bearings.
Called a few electric motor shops for a price to replace bearings ($150 - 200 range).
Pulled the motor.
When removing the pulley, I noticed the set screws were loose.
Could it be?
Put it all back together.
And they lived happily ever after.....

Bet there's some more loose pulley's out there.....

A while ago I started getting a new squealing noise from my 2002 Unisaw. On inspection it turned out that the pulley set screw had come loose and the pulley drifted out to where it touched the height adjustment shaft.

I have had the same problem, both the clicking and the squealing. The set screws were loose as described above. They are hard to keep tight.

Well now I will have to check mine. I have picked up on a strange, be it subtle, vibration lately. Thanks

I had the same thing but with a JET cabinet saw. Called JET to get some advice on how to replace the bearings. The guy one the phone said "no way the bearings are shot in a 10 years saw" (Home use) He said "Tighten the pulley set screws". He was right

I am thinking it would be a good idea to check all my belt driven tools, should not take too long.
