I usually read and not post but I got a very cool tool in the mail this week. Paul Hamler has made a small run (50 I think) of chair scrapers. I believe some are still available. When I first ordered it I was kicking myself in the butt for not making my own but I stopped when it arrived. It takes whispy shaving off gnarly wood right out of the box. Machined brass where appropriate, nicely finished wood elsewhere. I can't find my camera so all I've got is cheesy cell phone pics but there's better at his website/blog http://hamlertools.blogspot.com/. He mentioned in an e-mail that another run of scraper inserts may be in the pipeline soon. Fuzzy picture is of the scraper going to work on wood that's really too soft for a scraper but it's doing a fine job anyway. No affiliation with Mr. Hamler just happy with the tool.
