Hello All,

This is something out of the ordinary for me. I was asked to get a Arcade game Looking trophy, and I can't seem to find anything. Does anyone have a clue where something like this might be found or am I going to be building one myself.

Thanks in advance
Joe

Ohh.. that is just perfect. Thank you very much Jeff. If anybody has anything else to share please do, I was hoping to offer a couple of different options. This is a donation for a friend, not a sale.

When we need to make a trophy that there just isn't a figure, we either laser or sublimate a 2 inch disc and use a mylar holder for the top figure. We do them all the time for cornhole, etc.

Is this involving any particular game? Or just something generically representing an arcade game?
If it's the latter Jeff's link looks great.
If it's going to be something like a prize for a tournament of a specific game it may a good idea to choose something that is relevant to the type of game, for example that awesome acrylic arcade machine doesn't apply to driving games or music games.

Just my two cents, as a competitive arcade veteran this thread sparked my interest.

It is an Arcade Tournament and Space Invaders will be there at the Arcade. I presented it to them and it went over great. I just am having a hard time re - sizing this to be 1/4 slots and 10" high.

If you had BoxIt, you would be able to do it very easily. Since it is a vector based macro used in Corel Draw, just about anything you can draw 2D (within reason of certain radius and angle minimums) can be made. I may play with it if I get some free time.

PS- I used to work in the vending business (77-82), as a teenager, so these are very familiar to me.

Hey Joe,
Very Nice. What kind of acrylic did you use? How long did it take for you to laser it?
Thanks for the pics and ...

I used 1/4" green edged acrylic. The settings were Raster 95s 75p Vector 9s 100p 5000feq. It takes about 40 min

I made one out of 1/4" Walnut. It fits like a glove ( it took a rubber mallet ). I like it better than the acrylic for sure.207071207072207073

Hey Joe,
Yes it does look nice. I used my estimator last night and it would have taken about 30 minutes on mine to do a 1/4" acrylic one. 9 minutes of it was for the engraving. To speed it up a bit I would reduce the # of tabs by making them at least 3/8" -1/2" where possible (like at the bottom). The laser is cutting linear and the more tabs you have, the longer the cut and the more time it takes. I started off with the 1/8" and 1/4" tabs because thats what it came with and quickly adjusted our designs to 3/8" -1/2" where possible and it shortened the laser time considerably.

When projects, we designed, use two 16" by 28" sheets of our 1/8" premium MDF and you have to make 48-100 of each unit, every minute you can shave adds up to more profit and getting the product to your customer quicker.

Sometimes you need the smaller tabs for strength/glue surface or for it to look right/balanced/proportionality correct with the thickness of the material you choose for the project.

Keep it up, thanks for sharing and ...

That might look pretty good in black acrylic. Black acrylic rasters white(ish) grey
