Hey all,
I thought I'd share my humble attempt at making a square. Thanks for looking!

It's pretty - so the only remaining question is…
Is it square?

Very nice looking square Andrew.
I made one not long ago, but not nearly so stylish as yours. Nothing so enjoyable as making your own tools.

Find attached plans for a wooden layout square from Chris Schwarz. This was the project we worked during the class in July.

Brian, that is the key question. I was very careful when I epoxied the blade to the stalk. Fortunately, it came out square.

Very nice. I like the use of metal. While the wooden ones are pretty I found them impractical when I ran a marking knife along one I made and sliced right into it. I think this is one case where the ancients gladly converted to rosewood and steel or they used those darn Ticonderoga #2's. I know....I'm a klutz.

You have done the work accurately and well, but I might suggest that both ends of the square should match:have the same ogee.
