Congrats David, I'm sure you're going to love it. You can do so much with a lathe!

Thanks Bruce, I've been wanting one for home for a long time! I work all day in a machine shop so you'd think I'd have my fill but nope, just makes me want my own so I can work on projects without having to stay after work.. :-) and now I've got one, she's small but she's mine.

As an ex-machinist, I know what you mean. I have a 14X40 in my shop.

I need to finish breaking mine down so I can get rid of every last drop of packing grease... but it does make a nice addition. Congrats!

I wish I could have gotten something bigger like a 14x40 but I was pretty limited by space and by a lesser extent budget. I'd love something like the old Southbend we use at work but I'll settle for what I've got. :-)

So Mr. Brimm, it's been a while and no action photo's !

Have you been able to cut threads or ???

Keep us posted re your new found toy.

Also I wondered if you had done any milling with the lathe and what kind of jigging have you used for that purpose?

Thanks for posting !

I haven't had much time to mess with it other than the initial setup and test run since I've been so busy at work. Hopefully that'll slacken up and I can get back out to the shop and make stuff!

I've never done any milling on the metal lathe, I'm lucky enough to have a shop full of Bridgeports and Fadal CNC setup at work if I want to do some milling so... :D

A shop full of Bridgeports ! Color me green with envy. Lucky, lucky, lucky!

I hope you get some shop time soon. It's good for the tension relief for sure.

Get some ! More pictures too if you can.
