Best cedar deck finish?

I have a friend who just spent many hours rejuvenating his cedar deck, and he loves the way it looks now when it's wet. Is there a finish that will protect it and keep it looking like this for any length of time? Here are a couple of short videos before and after he cleaned it up.

Clear finishes have a short life on outdoor wood surfaces. The more opaque the finish, the longer it will last. In addition, you don't want to use a clear, hard finish like varnish as it will be very slippery when wet.

Go to your library and look at the June issue of Consumer Reports. CU is continually testing outdoor deck sealing products and reports their current results in the June or July issue.
