Irene fortunately turned out to be a mostly non-event here-- moderate wind, couple of inches of rain-- but since I couldn't go play outside, and had a goodly emergency stash of 'hurricane fodder' to consume, my wife got a new sewing box to replace the plastic beast that's suffered one too many visits from the grandkids. Overall dimensions are 14 wide, 11 high, 9 deep (towards the back). The tray is 2 inches deep so it holds big spools of thread, or any item/tool up to 4 inches tall. Material is 5.2 mm maple/birch with oil finish. I confess to using Boxit to help do the captive shelf. Now trying to decide if I've a solution looking for a problem, or just a problem-- but mama's happy (the important part).
