It will hold a lot of olives!! Bad pun, sorry, I couldn't help it. Really pretty wood. I wish I had given the wood to you so I could own the bowl.

Sweet. And without a doubt the most "conventional" of your pieces I have seen posted here!

Lionel, I didn't know that you turned bowls! Very nice piece of wood with loads of character. Well done! And, only on one axis!!

Thats a beauty! I have tried a few olive pieces and have had a terrible time with them warping and cracking when they dry, and when dry they are so brittle they tend to blow up on finish turning with the slightest catch, maybe its a different variety here in the dessert, but it looks the same. None the less, yours is super!

Fantastic Lionel!! I love it, Olive is such a pretty wood. I've haven't been lucky enough to get a piece of it yet... but I am always looking. I really love the form, and the natural edge, and it is perfectly balanced. :)

Great piece......Olive is one of my very favorites. Lots of character and the very unusual pleasing smell that it provides will you work with it. Sassafrass is another that has some very great odors and some nice color features with its Indian Red cambium layers.

Hello guys.
many thanks for the comments
Kindly and maybe a little sarcastic :D... right Mr Keeton ?
In fact to turn olive is a pleasure, and above all there is the smell, when the shavings fly, you think you are down a wine cellar.
It is just the same smell that between wine casks...right Mr Davis ?
I say...a pleasure
So long,
Lionel.

Nice work Lionel. When I saw you had posted something, I have to admit, I hardly expected to see something "normal" from you!:) Pretty piece!
