I have some large half laps about 6 by 12 inches in poplar - securing legs to aprons on an English style workbench.
I'm concerned that gluing the entire face will cause a problem due to the large cross-grain area.
Would it be better to peg them or to use a combination of pegs and glue (or nails)?
It's a working workbench, so I'm not very concerned about expansion if it would be mostly cosmetic and not a structural problem.
