If you have built this chair per this plan (American Furniture Design, drawn by R. Kreuger, 5/25/97, updated 11/24/02) please sign on to this thread.

I have all the wood, the tools, the machinery, the practice, etc., and am ready to begin, but I have a couple of questions.

First up, the 3/4" thick tenons that fit to leg mortises, for the lower side rails and the front and rear stretchers. They crash. I have mitered tenons when table stretchers enter legs, but am hesitant to do it here.

What did you do?

I am planning to NOT do through-tenons.

Have you watched the series of videos that shows Greg Paolini making this chair per this set of plans?

Did you ever finish this chair? I am in the beginning stages and would be interested in how it went.
