I've seen some aluminum accent rings used on game call blanks, and I really like the looks of these.
Can anyone point me in the direction to find these?
Also, do I just glue these rings to the wood/acrylic, and turn the aluminum down, just like I turn the wood down with my gouge?

You can use a coke can, aluminum flashing if you want a thicker band. I have used both. Make sure to rough the metal with sandpaper so it will bond better. Just turn with normal tools, they will dull pretty fast. I have had good luck with CA glue for the segments. Hope this helps.

What Russell said. And another thought...what about brass too? It turns well and you could use a piece of sheet brass or brass washers.

Hmmm, brass. Sure, that should turn well, and look good too.
Thanks for the ideas.

I like the look of copper... easy to turn, and if you coat it with something, it stays a pretty bright color. Ferrules are easy to get, just go to any BORG and look in the copper tubing section for caps.

How can I keep the copper from tarnishing, and looking poor?
Any ideas?
