"Cracks Are Good" (sometimes)

This was a block of Sycamore that I got a number of years ago. Bone dry. Trying to clean out my garage of piled up wood I came across this piece. I thought I would have a go at it. It has major checks that I filled with epoxy and brown powder. Top is Walnut and finial is Sycamore.

9" by 6" Sycamore base. Walnut top is double pierced. There is open space between piercings.

Took awhile to figure out the double piercing. I will be bringing this piece to Ohio Symposium.

Actually, I carved out some cracks on both sides to even it out
