Well, its been quite a while folks .... work and other 'life' has kept me from spending alot of time in the shop, so here is what I did this weekend. Its a first for me, a bowl that wont hold milk -- or cereal for that matter.

Learning from you guys, I taped up the outside so it wouldnt fly apart, and that worked out pretty well. Its a maple piece and just a hair less than 7" x 2.5" tall. I used rattle can laquer for the finish.

Appreciate any comments/critiques -- I felt, I needed to keep the form simple, dont want to try too much at once !!!!

Lee, awesome job keeping that little rim piece on. I don't think I would have taken the chance on going that close. I just know I would have gotten a catch and snapped it off. I really like this piece. BTW, won't hold M&Ms either...

Lee, I like this one a lot! Great wood with some beautiful figure, and the large void adds so much character - excellent!

I think it'll hold a few peanut M&Ms ;-)

I am new to turning it fascinates me, I do believe that bowl will hold Potato chips quite nicely. Looks fantastic some day....

Did you sure a vacuum chuck to clean up the bottom?no, I have a homemade version of a Cole chuck that I use my tailstock to hold it, the pare off the nib with a chisel.
