New to the forum. I just purchased a PowerMatic model 60 jointer. The serial number is 0102061075. Anyone know when this machine was manufactured? None of the serial numbers on
OWWM seem to match.
205682

I'd like to replace the cutter head with a helical unit but without an owner's manual don't know the cutter head diameter. Holbren lists 2 different Byrd heads for the Model 60.

Thanks

What was the original color of the jointer? Normally the year that it was manufactured is somewhere within the serial number. My initial guess is that it was made in 1975.

Check with the OWWM.ORG guys. They have PM down to an art form. Ask them about byrd heads as well. You might get some interesting comments. Dave

The original color is gold. Anyone know when PM changed from green to gold?

According to what is on VintageMachinery.org (owwm.com), Powermatic used gold paint between 1982 and 1995.
