I got a call Thursday morning that one of my trees fell into my neighbors yard, that evening, with some help, we got it all cut up, hauled away and stacked. I wasn't able to get it sealed until the next evening, due to darkness and exhaustion. I ended up with about a truckload of Box Elder, it seems to have some nice red coloring in it. Now to find time to turn!

Nice gloat Paul! That load looks like it should keep you busy for a little while.

Paul, in addition to color, from the look of some of that, I bet there is some nice figure, too. Hope so - great haul!

Very nice. It's interesting how your perception about trees changes. I read a book once about a man who lived in Alaska who described his trees in terms of cords. I walk around my yard and measure my trees in terms of vases. As in...... Hmm that walnut looks about fifty vases high.
Great haul. You'll get at least fifty bowls out of it.

Looks like a lot of work and a lot of future turnings! The strong contrast between the heartwood and sapwood should create some nice design options. Have fun.
