From the handle it looks like a No. 12 to me. If it's got a skew back it'd more likely be a 112. Looks like it's got a fairly full plate and someone cleaned it as well. A bit of pitting in one area like that shouldn't affect use too much unless it's eaten nearly all the way through. Only one way to find out: Use it.

I wouldn't worry that one badly eaten up place would really affect the saw's cutting. If it really bothers you, about the only thing that can be done is to cut off the teeth deep enough to get rid of the spot, and re tooth the saw. Seems to have plenty of blade on it still.

That's almost certainly a 12 and a bargain at $8, as long as it's straight it should make a fine user.

Great i feel pretty lucky to have found this one I do have a little consern about the pitting in that one area. I have to d8s that i cleaned up but the saw plate on this one feels alot heavier. As long as I can get it to hold a edge without those teeth breaking.... there is a very slight bow to the plate im wondering if I should send it out to bad axe to have him re work it for me seems like it would be worth it at this point.
