I thought that this spokeshave, if that is what it is, would interest the neanderthals here.
Hickory handles with brass ferrules.

The script is difficult to read but looks like Kynbonz. There is a cast iron wedge behind the thumbscrews
that is marked Jersey in block letters. The blade is marked but I cannot read it.

Please let me know if you recognize the maker.

Looks like the lovechild of a spokeshave and a scraper plane. :O

The only reading of that script that turned up anything remotely plausible is "Kimbong":

No idea if that's related in any way, but any other reading of those letters turns up even less.

There've been big shaves - barrel makers, ship's carpenters, etc. - for a long time. This one looks like one of those - German? Dutch? Lee Valley has, not too long ago, started offering one: http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=62800&cat=1,50230&ap=1
