salad bowl finish

in some article i read that someone cut salad bowl finish 2 to 1 with mineral spirits. does tah make it easier to apply? any info appreciated. thanks:confused::confused:

Salad bowl finish is "special" only in the fact that it gets you to buy yet another can of finish. Most are just some type of varnish. Thinning with mineral spirits will make it a wipe-on salad bowl finish.
