Since I'm only an occasional turner, I've given up on being able to afford (and justify) a Delta 46-460. I'd like to replace an old Craftsman tube lathe and found this on CL. Am going to look at it tomorrow. Is this a fair price for what this person is offering?

Delta Midi-Lathe with Extension Table & Record Turning Tools - $225 (Fayetteville) Date: 2011-08-06, 8:22PM EDT

Delta Midi-Lathe Model 46-250. This lathe has an extension table enabling you to turn up to 36". I have turned spindles, pens and baseball bats on this lathe. I am also including a set of Record Turning tools.

I think it would be a great buy. I would look at it and offer 200.00 cash. He will probally take it.,but if not 225 is still a good deal.,especially with the extras included.

Guys,
Thanks for your quick replies. I thought it sounded pretty good, especially with the extras. Will let you know after I look at it tomorrow.
Thanks again.

I've got the LA-200 Delta Midi Lathe (first one I've owned) and am quite happy with it. I would love to fine an extension (seem to be rare for that one), but for my (in)experience, it has been great.

You won't regret it.

That is a good deal. I had one that was used also. I learned to turn on it and gave it to my nephew for Christmas as he wanted to learn to turn. That was 4 yrs ago and he still uses it.

You won't go wrong with that one. It's as ubiquitous as the Jet 1014.
