Just checked the Lee Valley site to look into buying an MK II sharpening system. Looks like major inflation to price compete with Tormek. MK II is 399. I was under the impression that it was 299, but maybe that was just wishful thinking?

I haven't checked the LV site lately but I paid 299$ for mine. You are/were correct. That is a major price hike.

You're right. I wonder how it got changed in the first place! U.S. Dollars shows 299.
Thanks and sorry for the mix up

Now you should buy it because it is on "sale"!! You are saving a $100!
Sorry, anything to help you "justify" buying another tool

Rich,
I had the same thing happen to me. I'm not sure why the site defaulted to Canadian $ - other than the fact that they are Canadian. :D

I find that if I click on a link to the LV site, the next time I'm there, the currency is the same as the item in the previous link. It's caught me several times before.
