What brand sandpaper do you use for your ROS? Do you use OEM or an aftermarket brand, like 3M? If you use aftermarket, what brand do you like?

Unless I'm out of a grit and can't wait for mail-order, I usually get mine from Klingspor.
If I can't wait, I just end up with whatever HD or Lowes have on the shelf.

I use gator grit. I get it from the local farm and fleet store. It isn't all that expensive, but I could get it cheaper online. Anyway, I look forward to the responses, as I am looking for a good online source.

Festool paper of course. Not only do they have the best sanders, they also have the best paper. And, the paper (but not the sanders) is inexpensive.

Dan,

Well I'm not sure about "best" as Frank boldly states, but Klingspor has very good paper and enough different types to give you whatever you like. Occasionally they run a special with 450 5" disks for $40, I think my box will last forever. I've really never had a problem with any name brand ROS paper, but Klingspor is had to beat for both quality and value.

Mirka. I usually get a years supply at the wood show. Box prices are a couple dollars cheaper. If you get 5-6 boxes, they usually cut a little more of the price off.

I use the 1940 line of SIA, in exotics I have yet to find sandpaper that can beat it's agressive abilities and no load factor.

I've had good luck with the Mirka brand when I need to buy locally. I usually buy the Premium Gold line at WoodWorkersSupply, though if I'm planning ahead.

I like to mail order my sanding supplies from:

www.WoodWorkerSupply.com (http://www.woodworkersupply.com/)

They have free shipping on all orders (regardless of size) if you go to their site by first going through ToolSeeker

www.ToolSeeker.com (http://www.toolseeker.com/)

Ditto on the Mirka. They have a product called Abranet that is awsome. Looks like a screen and doesn't clog.

Same here for the Mirka Gold. It is available to me locally (Woodworkers Source) so I can just run over there when ever I need some more.

I prefer Klingspor although I have used Mirka with good results too. The Klingspor just seems to last a little longer. I only use something else in an extreme emergency (i.e., I forgot to place my internet order :o ).

I will have to order some Mirka paper. It looks like amazon sells it for a good price.

Mirka here also, I pick it up from the local Woodworkers Supply of NM. I use to use klingspor but I had two orders in a row where I had to pick off the backing with a scalpel & tweesers - very annoying!

I do the purchasing for my company and buy thousands of dollars worth of stuff and deal with all the companies mentioned and then some but my best source for sand paper is

http://www.industrialabrasives.com/index.html

Best source and prices for custom belts with a small minumum! Of course I get a wholesale price for volume which doesn't hurt, but overall prices are very good and sandpaper is all they do.

Plus the guys like the paper and they are fussy!

I am buying it from a place here in Canada called Chem Craft. If you haven't tried SIA, I believe you will be amazed.
