I just built a cedar shower bench for my wife. As she is in a wheelchair, it will be used daily. I'm trying to decide if and how I should finish it. After searching here and on the web in general, I haven't come to a consensus. Anyone want to make a suggestion?
BTW, the bench is already built. I used red cedar based on a compromise between price, availability and my limited woodworking skills. It seemed silly to invest in a perhaps more suitable but more expensive wood while I'm still very much learning. So, suggestions that I should have used teak, ipe, TREX or cocobola harvested from the banks of the Great Green-Grey Greasy Limpopo, while appreciated, are of limited use.
Cheers.
