I have built up lots of glue on my Bessy clamps over time and need to clean them up.
Any suggestions on the best and easiest way to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance.

Naptha comes to mind.

Gene-
I went thru this last year. MS or naphtha did not take off dried glue. I had a tough time weakening the bond even with acetone and paint stripper. In the end, it was a combination of these solvents, a heat gun (AFTER the solvent was removed !!!) and a beater chisel to remove enough so that the bar could slide properly.

The experience taught me to keep a bar of wax on hand for all subsequent glue ups. I now take the proper time to lube the bars before each glue up. Then as soon as the piece is removed from the clamps, I clean the bar of any drips. That's the best long term solution for me.

I used a wire wheel on my 8" bench grinder.
