Hi all

I am continuing to pursue this 3d carving with the laser. I am using it to enhance my work. Here are some results. Thanks for peeking.

204741Hi Dee

The ones shown here are Gantry. I have just started doing my own (military Seals and such) with Art Cam to create the bitmap. Here is one from a picture for a fraternity.

Thank you

George

Hey George,
AWESOME WORK!!! What are the times running on them and how many watts do you have?
Great way to enhance your woodworking

The times vary but the humming bird took about 35-40 minutes. I have a 60 watt laser. It can run the file in about 8 minutes but I found that I get better results making multiple passes. I start at 100 power, 75 speed, 1200 dpi. Then I take a pass at 90 power 90 speed and finally a pass at 75 power 100 speed. This burns away the char and leaves a finer detail. It is slow and time consuming but fits my one of a kind high end clientele.

Thanks for the nice comments.

That's how you do it... if it takes a lot of time, find the clients willing to pay for it.

Very nice how long does it take to prep your art once you have a bmp to start with?

Very nice. The fish with the water & fishing line coming out into the edge looks really spiffy.
