Does anyone know how to or where to buy 1/2" or 1" thick marble or granite that has the raw edges in 6 x 6, 4 x 8 and other sizes?

Thanks

This is Georgia Marble's site. I believe they are the largest producer of domestic stone. I know they are on the other side of the country from you, but to get thicknesses your asking about and with raw edges, your probably going to have to go to the source. http://www.polycor.com/eng

Try some of your local stone countertop fabricators. They can break you any size you need

I agree, check your local suppliers of granite and marble. You'll get a better deal and save a ton in shipping.

Most companies that produce products with granite that thick, usually have a pretty substantial scrap pile out back, and most are more than happy for you to pick through it and reduce some of it for them. Then, invest in a H.D. wetsaw to cut the sizes you want. A lot of times, I will just use a broken piece that has some character..

Good news is already own the saw just never thought of scrape piles

A lump hammer and a hand tracer chisel is all you need to cut your stone to size and it will give you the raw edge you are looking for.
