I have a 36" Yates American 7.5 hp bandsaw. Works great. But I also have a lot of cants of hardwoods that I wish to resaw. I have tried to push them thru by hand with very poor and unacceptable results.
Therefore, I would like to obtain (make?) a headsaw log carriage. This carriage could not depend upon the saw for any support except alignment. It cannot depend upon the existing table.
Since much of my wood is in the 8' to 10' length, I cannot get benefit from the normal devices used my many of us to breakdown short logs/beams.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is such a device commercially available? Are there any plans for this available?
